Silver Stream Railway
Silver Stream Railway is home to one of New Zealand’s largest collection of working steam locomotives. The railway has heritage trains running every Sunday from 11 am till 4pm. Admission to the site (which allows you to ride the train as many times as you like) is $12 for an adult, $6 for children, and $29 for a family. The railway’s four operating steam locomotives are supplemented by several operational diesel locomotives and railcar. It also specialises in hosting children’s birthday parties, charters, rail-fan events and re-creation goods trains. The railway is located on Reynolds Bach Drive just off Eastern Hutt Road in Silverstream.
